Our HomeThere is room for many other important residents on the farm, including all those who are not popular with everybody, like the Black Rat Snake, Garden Spider, Japanese Beetle, Striped Skunk, and many others. Some of them are strikingly beautiful at a closer look. Moreover, several plants and trees such as the Berberis Lempergiana and the Saponaria Lempergii are shown which have a personal connection to the author. The farm is home to all the living creatures who together form a balanced environment which is enjoyable for us, the humans, who are the real "quintessential visitors" amongst all the true permanent residents on the land. Art in nature is captured in some of the photographs below, including the beetle artwork on the Hazelnut Tree. The book also shows photographs of Luna Moth, Raccoon, Swamp Milkweed with Aphid Larvae, Chinese Basil, Black Swallowtail, Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia), Horn Beetle, Box Turtle, American Toad, Squirrel, Opossum, Rabbit, and Turkey Vulture.
The Gray Foxes are very gentle animals and show it to the members of their family.
