Geese
Our Canada Geese and Chinese Geese have been year-round permanent residents on the pond for fourteen years. They are our most enjoyable neighbors, especially liked by children as they are visible all day long. Geese have a remarkably social behavior, with strict care of the young and a hierarchy of the old ganders. The gander will intimidate all intruders including foxes and if necessary humans.

Somebody just dropped me on the driveway to the farmhouse to let me die. I hade a large gaping wound over my left thigh." "The people from the farmhouse picked me up and gave me water and food. I was extremely thirsty and very tired. I had my own room close to the kitchen, that is close to cracked corn and other goodies." |
