Furbearers

The furbearers around this area are quite seriously hunted, trapped and senselessly killed. Many of them need reassurance before they trust you. Once they feel safe you will be rewarded by seeing them in their natural behavior. The Chipmunks visit frequently for a walnut treat from the cup. Our all time favorite is Mama Gray Fox. She has been with us for eight years and is a first class movie star. You will enjoy the other furbearer's photographs captured in the book such as the Whitetail Deer, Eastern Chipmunk, Gray Fox, Red Fox, and the Groundhog.

Chipmunk
The Chipmunk knows where to find walnuts and how to get to them. There is a lid on the jar; it took him no time to learn how to push it off. The table had a glass lid that made a scary noise. He overcame it easily, as walnuts are too good to be left behind, just because of a little noise.

Mama Fox
Mama Fox does one of her performances: “here I am, don't you see me. I deserve a little extra attention”.
